![]() ![]() Installing to the 6th gen Classics is a little weird in that once the bootloader is installed, a mysterious unformatted ~100MB partition will suddenly appear! I don't know what it is or why it happens, but I suspect it was an intentional landmine put there by apple to do exactly what it's doing now: freaking you out so you don't mod your device and stop using apple's software. Anyways, my rant is over.įortunately, nothing is bricked or permanent. If a video starts off where the host doesn't even know what device he's using, like in this one, you should find yourself another guide. I've seen so many people in the past with borked PlayStation, PSP and Vita jailbreaks on those subs because of this guy. I can't even restart my iPod because it'll go back to that screen. Bootloader USB mode" (From the picture attached). All I'm seeing on my screen now is "Error! Can't load rockbox.ipod, file not found. I'm an android user and my iPod is the only Apple related thing that I have. I can't get support from Apple themself because I don't even have an Apple ID. All that I get is them saying to check if the USB Cable is plugged in. Now all I'm getting is iTunes asking me to put my ipod in recovery mode, but it can't go through with it because it can't detect my iPod. I was desperately trying to get my iPod back to normal, and I even deleted any trace of the Rockbox files hoping that It worked. Even though I assumed that was normal, I still chickened out of the whole procedure, and it was all a blur from there. I thought things would go smoothly, but then a ton of stuff started to pop up including something about "formatting the disk" (Which I assumed was my iPod, and due to my experience of accidentally formatting my Nintendo DSi when I was younger, I didn't want to erase all the things I had on my iPod.) and then my iPod was making these beeping noises and having a black screen with all this different test. I was following techjames' Rockbox tutorial (this one: ) and I was up to the point of installing it (At the 5:45 timestamp). ![]()
